Improving Accounting System at Childrens Hospital of PR

Project Description

HEALTH

Hospital del Niño de Puerto Rico is the only Pediatric Health House on the island that provides extended stay and convalescence services to patients aged between 0 to 21 years old with physical and/or mental disability.

DOWNLOAD SUCCESS STORY

At the time, the hospital had staff members filling government forms and invoices to offer to different agencies such as The Department of Education (DOE), The Health Department (HD), and the Department of Family Affairs (DFA).

CHALLENGE

The administration recognized that something had to be done in order to have the staff spend less time filling forms and reports and more time providing their services to the patients in need.  The administrative team at “Hospital del Niño de Puerto Rico” determined that for them to provide a better service that was up to par with the technological advances in the market, they needed to start automating the processes used to archive data on the patients and services provided.

The real challenge was the deadline put in place by HDNPR; the project had to be completed in a short time, leaving only two months to analyze, design, develop and deploy the solution.

PERFORMANCE

INVID started the information gathering and analysis phase where HDNPR provided the actual manual reports and forms. After an extensive analysis, our team was prepared to create a custom-made application that would fulfill the requirements provided by HDNPR.

As a non-profit organization, HDNPR was eligible to obtain a licensing donation for Microsoft to reduce the cost of the solution. By partnering with Microsoft in this effort, INVID delivered a high-tech solution that would automate the process of registering patients and the overall services provided by the hospital.

DEPLOYMENT TIME

2 MONTHS

Our determined team met the aggressive deadline established by the HDNPR.

THE SOLUTION

INFOTRACK

InfoTrack is a technology that provides integrated searching and innovative services for professionals, businesses, and individuals. By incorporating this service in the solution provided by INVID, users are now able to fill electronic forms and archive data in a centralized manner. More so, they are capable of searching records and editing information with ease. The fact that the SQL Reporting Services has the capability to emulate government forms allows HDNPR to export reports and send them to government agencies while simultaneously maintaining compliance.

The power of the application comes into place when users want to access information from any part of the institution. Since the app is web-based, the data can be access anywhere in the hospital. The app has:

  • Robust search capabilities
  • Strong security settings
  • Detailed reports that fit the needs of any agency.

With the low cost of ownership, the help from Microsoft Licensing and the useful work of INVID in meeting with deadlines and requirements, InfoTrack is a great solution that will help HDNPR achieve success.

TESTIMONIALS

Before Infotrack, it took us a long time to prepare the invoices and then they were not accepted because we had at least five or six errors. Now we can do it without errors in an hour, and that’s great.
