 Summary

Redesigned the IEPR website into a secure, citizen-centered platform, resulting in an 85% faster information discovery experience, a 40% reduction in support inquiries, 100% accessibility compliance with modern standards, and a fully modernized CMS that improved security and content management.

The Story

The Instituto de Estadísticas de Puerto Rico (IEPR) is the official source of statistical information for Puerto Rico. Because the institute does not operate centralized public offices, its website serves as the primary gateway for citizens, researchers, businesses, and government agencies seeking reliable data.

Working closely with the IEPR team, we set out to create a digital experience centered around the needs of the public. Our goal was not only to modernize the website but to transform it into the institute’s most valuable digital asset, one that promotes transparency, improves accessibility, and makes statistical information easier to discover.

The Problem

The existing website was built on Drupal 8, an open-source platform that presented growing security concerns and required ongoing maintenance. More importantly, the site’s information architecture had become difficult to navigate, making it challenging for users to locate the statistical data and reports they needed.

As a result, citizens frequently contacted the institute by phone and email for assistance. Since the website is the organization’s primary communication channel, these usability issues directly impacted both the user experience and the institute’s ability to provide efficient public service.

The challenge was clear: redesign the website to make information easier to find while improving security, accessibility, and overall usability.

The Results

We completely redesigned and rebuilt the website in Webflow, providing the IEPR with a more secure, modern, and easier-to-manage platform.

To improve content discoverability, we restructured the site’s information architecture and implemented a tag-based search system, allowing users to quickly locate reports, datasets, and publications. Our UI/UX team also designed a more intuitive navigation experience supported by custom icons that help users identify key sections with ease. Accessibility was integrated throughout the project, ensuring the platform meets high usability standards and delivers an inclusive experience for all visitors.

The result is a secure, accessible, and user-friendly digital platform that enables citizens to independently access statistical information while reinforcing the IEPR’s commitment to transparency and public access to data.

The Story

FirstBank, one of the leading financial institutions in Puerto Rico, manages a high volume of mortgage loan requests daily. Known for its commitment to customer service and innovation, FirstBank sought a more agile and accurate way to support potential homeowners through the early stages of the loan application process.

To enhance operational efficiency and customer experience, FirstBank partnered with INVID to develop a Mortgage Lead Management System, a custom software solution designed to optimize how loan officers handle client preliminary inquiries.

The Problem

The bank’s previous system for managing mortgage leads was highly decentralized, involving multiple processes and manual questionnaires. Mortgage agents struggled to track and follow up on cases efficiently, leading to delays and inconsistencies in service delivery.

What FirstBank needed was a centralized, secure solution to:

  • Provide prospective clients with an immediate and accurate loan estimate before initiating a formal application.
  • Reduce unnecessary credit checks that could impact the client’s score.
  • Enable sales and support teams to generate reports and project employee workload more effectively.

This called for a digital transformation of the loan estimation process that could support the bank’s internal teams while delivering a better experience to future borrowers.

The Results

After a deep dive into FirstBank’s workflows and technology stack, INVID developed a Mortgage Lead Management System tailored to the institution’s needs. Built using ASP.NET and SQL Server, the platform integrates seamlessly with FirstBank’s existing technologies.

The solution allows loan officers to:

  • Fill out digital forms with a prospective client’s information.
  • Instantly calculate an estimated loan amount and interest rate.
  • Store all inputs in a secure and centralized database for reporting and follow-ups.

This secure system became a powerful tool for lead tracking, marketing, and cross-selling. Employees gained access to dynamic reports that offered insights into submission volumes, client needs, and document flow. Additionally, the tool served as a valuable referral and follow-up system, helping loan officers build trust with potential borrowers and convert more leads.
