UPR Humacao - Social Alert

Project Description

The Challenge
The University of Puerto Rico in Humacao wanted to use Social Alert to provide faculty members and students with an app to report emergency incidents inside the campus.

The Solution
Social Alert is a mobile app that let students and faculty members press a panic button when in danger. The alert uses the phone’s GPS coordinates and send them to an Azure hosted web server that displays the alert in a map.

Authorized personnel can also alert students through mass notification services of any emergency they need to know about. In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act.
