Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the applications manager for a non-profit organization that attends to the health of the inmates on the island of Puerto Rico.

What challenge were you trying to address with INVID?
We needed someone to develop our Intranet so that our employees had a centralized location for information about the company and its status, as well as all the documents they need to perform their tasks, documentation for medical records, and application documentation that we use as well. This was something that would have an impact on all departments within the corporation.

What was the scope of their involvement?
The entire Intranet was developed using Microsoft SharePoint. It was on the online version of SharePoint, using Office 365. They developed custom pages using HTML, CSS [cascading style sheets], and JavaScript. We had specific tasks that we needed customizing and they were able to do this.

What is the team composition?
We had 1 project manager and 2 developers on this project.

How did you come to work with INVID?
We were interested in SharePoint as a technology for our Intranet. After searching through Google, we found them. We started asking around within the industry, and they were the best in Puerto Rico so we contacted them and chose them to work on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?
We began working with them in June 2016 and the project was completed in August of this year. We are still working on some additional things that weren’t addressed in the initial product.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They were very detailed and knew the technology very well. They were able to answer all the questions that we had about the platform in a concise manner, as well as questions regarding security, which was one of the first things we wanted to make sure we had right.

How did INVID perform from a project management standpoint?
We used email for communication and tasks. It was very easy to manage everything with them via email, so we didn’t use any additional software.

What did you find most impressive about them?
The ways they gave us to present the content were very interesting and dynamic. We explored several different ways until finally settling on the one that we thought the users might appreciate and find easiest.

Are there any areas they could improve?
They could work on improving the final documentation they provide for the project. We were expecting a guide explaining how to do everything they worked on, but we didn’t get the level of detail that we were looking for.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Prior to starting the project, make sure you have a clear and detailed outline of what needs to be worked on. Set goals for developing the platform so that when the company comes in, they can head directly into development.
